Where Your Money Goes

Your donation goes to the kids music lessons and instruments

Our strings music program is the largest Elementary School Choice Program in the State of Florida yet it receives less than 10% of its operating budget from the school district.

All students participate free of charge, and the instruments and materials are made possible by your kind donations.

Here are examples of how we use your tax deductible donations:

  • Teaching Music and How To Play Strings Instruments (violin, viola, cello, double base)
  • Purchasing instruments for all students
  • Instrument Repair
  • Instrument Supplies
  • Music books
  • Conductor’s aids during lessons

How is all this Possible without Substantial Funding from the School District?

  • Conductor Andy Matzow volunteers his time, taking no salary for teaching or leading the orchestra
  • More than 20 Parents of students volunteer on a weekly basis to help manage classes, provide goods and services, coordinate performances, sit on the foundation board and many other charitable and volunteer activities
  • Practice facilities are provided by Palm Beach Public Elementary School
  • Orchestra Performance Facilities are donated by other local Public Schools such as BAK Middle School of the Arts and Dreyfoos School of the Arts

The Palm Beach Public School Orchestral Strings Foundation, Inc is a non-profit 501(c)(3). Registration No. CH31616.
